Connections

The USB port carries MIDI in both directions, powers the unit and handles firmware updates. Your software sees it as Tweaker Port 1 — this is the port almost every mapping and script expects.

The 5-pin MIDI in jack routes incoming data from other MIDI hardware over USB to your computer, where it appears as Tweaker Port 2. The MIDI out jack sends MIDI from your computer out to external gear over the same second port, and also carries the Tweaker's own data.

Setting it up

• As a control surface in Ableton Live — install the remote script, then assign Tweaker and TweakerNav in the MIDI/Sync preferences.
• Choosing the right remote script version — do this before anything else if Live is behaving oddly.
• Installing Traktor .tsi mappings — import, then set both ports to Tweaker Port 1.
• Driving Ableton's Drum Rack from the pads

Maintenance

• Check your firmware version — the final release is 5.2.
• Update the firmware over USB via the TweakerDisk volume.
• Reset to factory defaults from the Tweaker Editor when a custom map goes wrong.
• Default MIDI assignments for every control on the unit.
• LED test: hold the large navigation encoder's push button while connecting the Tweaker. Every LED lights. Press again to return to normal operation.

Overlays

To fit an overlay, remove the three fader knobs and lay the overlay on the face plate, seating it tightly into the corners and around every control. The enclosure is designed to hold overlays in place during performance. Print the PDFs below at 100% scale — do not let your PDF reader shrink them to fit the page.
