Most problems with either product come down to one of three things. Check these before anything else.
- Version mismatch. The Tweaker's Ableton Live remote script is version-locked to specific releases of Live. Installing the wrong one produces symptoms that look like broken hardware. Check the compatibility table first.
- Port conflicts. If more than one Traktor mapping is assigned to Tweaker Port 1, the hardware receives contradictory messages and behaves erratically. Only one mapping may be active; set the rest to None. See Installing Traktor mappings.
- Modified settings. The Tweaker is deeply customizable, which means it can be customized into a corner. A factory reset from the Tweaker Editor rules this out in under a minute.
A note on age
This hardware dates from 2011 to 2015. The eBox-44 drivers were written for operating systems that are now long superseded, and the Tweaker's DAW integrations target Ableton Live 8 and 9 and Traktor Pro 2. The Tweaker itself is a class-compliant USB MIDI device, so it still enumerates and sends MIDI on any modern machine without a driver — it is only the remote scripts and mappings that are tied to those older host versions.
Nothing here receives further development. It is preserved as-is, and it will stay reachable.
